FIRE(Financial Independence Retire Early，提早財務自由)在現在已經不是什麼新的觀念，即使已經有數十萬人奉行這樣的精神，但仍不是普羅大眾可以輕易做到。
作者是一名影片製作人，他和老婆有著還可以的收入，時常來場說走就走的旅行，不買太多奢侈品但花錢上也不手軟。然而，縱使工作上有不錯的成就卻始終覺得綁手綁腳，也沒能存下太多錢(意味著：當夫妻其中一方頓失收入來源，就會陷入負債)。他們的FIRE目標在於提早退休，並且追求生活中的快樂，而他們也從中發現，不必花費大量金錢就能得到絕大部分的快樂。
我覺得最敬佩的一點就是，夫妻兩人對於金錢觀並不合，但作者很有耐心地去影響他老婆，讓她漸漸認同FIRE精神，兩人一路扶持到達FIRE的境界。
FIRE最終的目的不是退休，而是追求人生(生活)目標，它可以是心理上的快樂、更多元的人生體驗、對生活的滿足，目標因人而異。

FIRE(Financial Independence Retire Early) has not been something new in this era. Hundreds of thousands of people have committed themselves to FIRE, yet it's not an easy task for ordinary people.
The author is a film producer. He and his wife were able to earn good fortune from what they did. Last-minute trips were affordable to them. However, he had never felt free even if he had gained success at work. Besides, they were merely able to make ends meet, meaning that they would go into debt if one of them lose their income unexpectedly.
It was their goal to retire early and be happy with their life. On the path to financial freedom, they found that what makes them happy doesn't always mean spending substantial money.
What I admire most after reading this book is that this couple didn't share the same perspective toward money in the beginning. The author was patient enough to wait until his wife was finally of the same mind, and they worked together to move forward to FIRE.
The ultimate goal of FIRE is never to get retired. It is to achieve life goals, which can be a piece of happiness in mind, a more diversified life experience, satisfaction with life, etc. The goals differ from person to person.
